The YWCA of Mahoning Valley presents their 43rd annual Women Artists: A Celebration! opening Friday June 27 and running through Friday July 25 at their Youngstown location on Rayen Ave. The show is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 12:00-4:00pm. The Mercer Community Band presents the concert The Next Generation, on Friday, July 18 at the Mercer County Courthouse Square. The duo Justified open the evening at 5:30 pm, and the band takes the stage at 7:00 pm. The band will feature vocal soloists Katelyn Powell and Colt Garrett, and euphonium soloist Aidan Schreck. The concert is free but you will need to bring your own lawn chair.
In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held at the Mercer High School Auditorium.
The Millennial Theatre Company presents the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat weekends from Friday, July 11 through Sunday, July 20, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm, at the Youngstown Playhouse. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers, and the coat of many colors. The Youngstown Historical Center for Industry and Labor presents a photography exhibition by Richard Hahn titled Grit/Glow, opening Thursday, July 10, and on display through February. Grit/Glow juxtaposes the warmth of orange skies with the stark realities of industry, illustrating the paradox of beauty and hardship. The museum is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Saturdays from Noon to 4:00 pm.

The YSU McDonough Museum of Art presents its Summer Schedule with four exhibitions running through July 19th. Featured are regional artists Ronald Jason Van Hoose, Jeffrey S. The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibition, Facing the Giant: 3 Decades of Dissent, by artist Shepard Fairey, Sunday, June 8 through Sunday, August 31. Featuring 30 large silkscreen and mixed collage works on paper, Facing the Giant is a curated selection of Fairey's works that highlight clear messages of empowerment. The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibition, Touched by Rauschenberg, which features the works of Rauschenberg and three artists who admired and celebrated him: Diana Levinson, Don Gummer, and Eric Forstmann, Sunday, June 8 through Sunday, August 24, at the Butler, on Wick Avenue in Youngstown. Moraine State Park presents the Heron & Kingfisher Paddle on Saturday, July 19th, from 1-3 pm, at the McDanels Launch Area at Moraine State Park. During this nature-based paddle, park staff will share information about the heron, kingfishers, and more about the ecology of Lake Arthur. The Cleveland Orchestra presents Beethoven’s Violin Concerto at Blossom Music Center, on Saturday, July 19. at 7:00 pm.
