The Stambaugh Chorus invites all local singers to join its Spring 2026 season, featuring powerful choral music connected to the national Sing Democracy 250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. This nationwide project includes newly commissioned works that celebrate democracy, unity, and the American spirit. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, January 6, and will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, in Bliss Hall, on the YSU campus. Lit Youngstown presents a six session writing through grief workshop with writer and teacher Alex Abruzzi on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm from April 2 through May 14 at the Girard Library. Sessions will include group poetry readings, peer-led discussion, thought-provoking prompts, and the opportunity to share work. The Millennial Theater Company presents: Mean Girls The Musical! weekends from Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 26 at the Youngstown Playhouse with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. The YSU Ward Beecher Planetarium presents the program, "One World, One Sky" every Saturday in March at 2:00pm. Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu take viewers on an exciting discovery of the Sun, Moon, and stars. They learn about the Big Dipper and the North Star and take an imaginary trip to the Moon. All planetarium shows are free with seating being first come, first served.
The Youngstown Skatepark and the Youngstown City Parks & Recreation department present a free community pop-up skatepark on Saturday, April 25 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Eugenia Atkinson Recreation Center on Otis St in Youngstown.
