Youngstown State University’s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics presents Eco Explorers: Discover, Protect, Thrive!, Monday, July 14 - Friday, July 18, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, at the Williamson Innovation Park in Canfield. The camp is for incoming middle and high school students, and will focus on providing interactive and hands-on activities. The Youngstown Historical Center for Industry and Labor presents a photography exhibition by Richard Hahn titled Grit/Glow, opening Thursday, July 10, and on display through February. Grit/Glow juxtaposes the warmth of orange skies with the stark realities of industry, illustrating the paradox of beauty and hardship. The museum is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Saturdays from Noon to 4:00 pm.

The YSU McDonough Museum of Art presents its Summer Schedule with four exhibitions running through July 19th. Featured are regional artists Ronald Jason Van Hoose, Jeffrey S. The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibition, Facing the Giant: 3 Decades of Dissent, by artist Shepard Fairey, Sunday, June 8 through Sunday, August 31. Featuring 30 large silkscreen and mixed collage works on paper, Facing the Giant is a curated selection of Fairey's works that highlight clear messages of empowerment. The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibition, Touched by Rauschenberg, which features the works of Rauschenberg and three artists who admired and celebrated him: Diana Levinson, Don Gummer, and Eric Forstmann, Sunday, June 8 through Sunday, August 24, at the Butler, on Wick Avenue in Youngstown. The YWCA of Mahoning Valley presents their 43rd annual Women Artists: A Celebration! opening Friday June 27 and running through Friday July 25 at their Youngstown location on Rayen Ave. The show is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 12:00-4:00pm. The Butler Institute of American Art presents Senior Art & Learn, the third Thursday of every month, through November. This free event is for adults 55+ who are interested in learning more about the art in our museum. Seniors will be led on a docent-guided tour of a featured exhibition that encourages “slow looking” and engagement. Seating available. More information at butlerart.com.
