The Hopewell Theatre on Mahoning Ave in Youngstown presents the show "Silent Sky" weekends from Friday, April 3 through Sunday April 12 with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and the Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. "Silent Sky" by Lauren Gunderson tells the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific and heart-bound discoveries. YSU presents an America250 lecture with the Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies at 5pm on Tuesday April 14 in room 132 of Departolo Hall on the YSU campus. Andrew Porwancher, professor of history at Arizona State University and author of "The Jewish World of Alexander Hamilton," will present a lecture titled, “Was Alexander Hamilton Jewish?” The talk will explore the religious and cultural influences surrounding Alexander Hamilton, offering new perspectives on his background and the broader historical context of early America. The Stambaugh Chorus invites all local singers to join its Spring 2026 season, featuring powerful choral music connected to the national Sing Democracy 250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. This nationwide project includes newly commissioned works that celebrate democracy, unity, and the American spirit. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, January 6, and will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, in Bliss Hall, on the YSU campus. Three Sheep Gallery and Workshop presents their 10th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday, April 15th from 11am-4pm at 6010 Market St, Boardman, OH 44512. Visitors are encouraged to bring their knitting or crochet projects, join in community stitching, and contribute to a collaborative weaving project on a pre-warped loom. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Butler Institute of American Art presents Senior Art & Learn, the third Thursday of every month, through November. This free event is for adults 55+ who are interested in learning more about the art in our museum. Lit Youngstown presents a six session writing through grief workshop with writer and teacher Alex Abruzzi on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm from April 2 through May 14 at the Girard Library.
