The Trumbull County Historical Society & Medici (meh DEE chee) Museum of Art present Science Fiction & Hollywood: The Art of John Zabrucky, an exhibition showcasing modern props designed by Zabrucky now on display at the Medici Museum of Art through June 28th. An American prop designer and co-founder of Modern Props Inc., Zabrucky contributed props to hundreds of films such as Ghostbusters and RoboCop, as well as films and TV series in the Star Trek, Marvel, and DC franchises. The Youngstown Historical Center for Industry and Labor presents, "Strange Nights and Horrible Visitors: Ghosts of the American Civil War" as part of their Merchant's Lecture Series on Friday, April 11 at 6:00pm at their facility on Wood St. YSU Associate Professor of History, Dr. Amy Fluker takes to the supernatural world of the 19th century with her insight on ghosts of Ohio and the Civil War era, a haunting time for all Americans. The event is free and open to the public.
Kent State Trumbull Theater presents William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Peter Byrne, weekends from Friday, April 4 through Sunday, April 13, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Youngstown State University Theatre presents the production titled [title of show], weekends from Friday, April 4 through Sunday, April 13, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 pm and the Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm, in the Spotlight Theatre of YSU's Bliss Hall. The Dana Opera Ensemble of the YSU Dana School of Music presents its spring opera, Alcina, by George Frideric Handel. Alcina, composed in 1735, is a Baroque opera that explores themes of magic, illusion, and love, and is renowned for its dramatic and expressive music. Performances are on Friday, April 11th, at 7:30 pm; and Sunday, April 13th at 2 pm, at Ford Theater, in YSU's Bliss Hall. Tickets are available at ysu.tix.com.
The Dana Opera Ensemble, led by Dr. Misook Yun, is designed to help students learn about the complex process of creating an operatic experience. Through the mastery of roles, proper diction, and character development, students learn how to relate to other performers, choreograph their movements on stage, and follow a conductor while acting.
Parking for events in Bliss Hall is available at the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.

The YSU Ward Beecher Planetarium presents the program Firefall, every Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm, from April 11 through April 19. Learn about comets and asteroids - invaders from space that have shaped the surface of the Earth since the dawn of history. The program is free and open to the public. Buhl Park presents Clean Up Week, running from April 5th to April 12th at Buhl Park in Hermitage. Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the area, everyone is welcome to participate. Moraine State Park presents the Volunteer Kickoff Event on Saturday, April 12th from 10am to 12pm at the McDanel’s Launch Area in Moraine State Park.
