YSU Department of Art presents an exhibition by faculty of staff from Thursday, March 5 through Friday, April 10 in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery in Bliss Hall. Each piece in the exhibition was created using the department's own Risograph, demonstrating both the artistic vision of faculty and staff and innovative printmaking. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
The Hopewell Theatre on Mahoning Ave in Youngstown presents the show "Silent Sky" weekends from Friday, April 3 through Sunday April 12 with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and the Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. "Silent Sky" by Lauren Gunderson tells the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific and heart-bound discoveries. The Trumbull New Theater presents the show "Storm Warning" weekends from Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 22. with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 3:00pm. The theater is located at 5883 Youngstown Warren Rd in Niles. Set in cottage country in 1963, Jack Forrester, a damaged World War II vet, has retreated from life. The Butler Institute of American Art presents "Sensory Sundays" on the first Sunday of every month through November. The Butler will open 1 hour prior to typical hours, and will provide options for individuals including fidget toys, as well as a sensory guide and what to expect while visiting. The Youngstown Branch of the American Association of University Women presents the program, "Empowerment and Collaboration through the Arts" on Tuesday, April 7th at 5:30pm at the United Way Volunteer Resource Center, 8133 Market Street in Boardman. Panelists from the McDonough Museum of Art, SMARTS, and DeYor PAC will describe their organizations, their impact, their collaborations in the community, and potential partnerships with AAUW, Arts, & Arts Education for girls/women. This event is free and open to the public.
The Stambaugh Chorus invites all local singers to join its Spring 2026 season, featuring powerful choral music connected to the national Sing Democracy 250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. This nationwide project includes newly commissioned works that celebrate democracy, unity, and the American spirit. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, January 6, and will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, in Bliss Hall, on the YSU campus.
