The Trumbull County Historical Society & Medici (meh DEE chee) Museum of Art present Science Fiction & Hollywood: The Art of John Zabrucky, an exhibition showcasing modern props designed by Zabrucky now on display at the Medici Museum of Art through June 28th. An American prop designer and co-founder of Modern Props Inc., Zabrucky contributed props to hundreds of films such as Ghostbusters and RoboCop, as well as films and TV series in the Star Trek, Marvel, and DC franchises. The YSU McDonough Museum of Art presents the Spring 2025 Graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition from Friday, April 18th to Saturday, May 3rd. The exhibition will feature the art and design work of students graduating in the spring semester from the Department of Art at YSU. More information available at 330-941-1400.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The McDonough Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The Graduating BFA Exhibition is the opportunity for students to share the original and innovative discoveries they have made in their artistic journeys, communicating to the public their creative expressions of human experience. Students in the Department of Art work closely with nationally and internationally known faculty engaged in a broad range of art and design practices.
Participants in the exhibition include, Dominic Bono, Alanna Clapp, Marcus Cupp, Louis DeVicchio, Benjamin Doss, Syann Ellis, Jenna Fitzpatrick, Sabrina Harrison, Katrin Hoeller, Maci Humphreys, Callie Kester, Seth Kollar, Caitlin Martin, Lauren Novak, Abe Perez, Ryan Richardson and Leah Sydney.

The next meeting of the local chapter of American Association of University Women (AAUW) is on Wednesday, May 7, at 5:30 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown, 1105 Elm Street. Policy Matters Ohio Executive Director Hannah Halbert, will be speaking on the topic Everything All At Once: How the Ohio legislature is flooding the zone. The meeting is free and open to all.
As Ohioans face growing economic uncertainty driven by chaotic federal policy, the Ohio House has put forward a budget that harms children and parents, underfunds schools, upends programs that stabilize household budgets, and botches an attempt to address rising property taxes. The state Senate now has an opportunity to ensure some measure of economic security and set Ohio on a better path.
