The YSU Department of Women's and Gender Studies presents a lecture by Dr. Linda Gordon on Thursday, March 20, at 6:00 pm at the Youngstown Center of Industry and Labor on Wood St in Youngstown. Dr. Linda Gordon will deliver a talk on The Much Misunderstood Women’s Liberation Movement. The event is free and open to the public.
Linda Gordon is a professor of history and a University Professor of the Humanities at New York University. Her early books focused on the historical roots of social policy issues, particularly as they concern gender and family issues. Her recent books include: The Great Arizona Orphan Abduction (1999) and the biography of great photographer Dorothea Lange (2009), both of which won the Bancroft Prize for best book in US history; Impounded (2008); Feminism Unfinished (2015); The Second Coming of the KKK (2017). She is one of only three historians to have won the Bancroft Prize twice.
