Lisa Mudryk

Administrative Assistant

mudryk@wysu.org

I remember when I told my friend that I was hired at Youngstown State in 1995, she said to me – “That is better than winning the lottery!”  She was right.  26 years later and I feel so fortunate to be working here. I am a Youngstown native and currently reside in Struthers with my husband and two teenage boys.

Over the years, I have worked in the Student Affairs Division, Finance, and most recently at WYSU-FM.   My favorite part of working at YSU, is the “kids”.  I’ve had the pleasure of supervising approximately 30+ student workers during my time at YSU.  I have maintained friendships with quite a few of them over the past 26 years.  I cherish watching them grow from incoming freshmen college students to successful adults such as doctors, nurses, teachers, accountants, musicians, entrepreneurs, moms and dads, and more importantly, caring, productive members of society.  They have all been unique but have one thing in common – they are proud YSU graduates.

I have also enjoyed the opportunity to take classes over the years. These classes have helped me to learn skills that have assisted me in my career as well as challenging my mind and sharpening my thinking skills.   I am a mother of 2 future YSU Penguins.  Currently their hobbies, are my hobbies! Running between practices and games doesn't leave much "me-time", but they are my favorite activity!  I will be so proud to one day watch my children learn to be successful adults at an institution that has meant so much to me over the years.
