The Butler Institute of American Art presents an exhibition of works by acclaimed Cuban American artist Julio Larraz, opening September 14 and running through November 23 in the MacIntosh Gallery. This exhibition is in conjunction with National Hispanic Heritage Month. Larraz’s oil paintings are said to inhabit a realm where reality and imagination converge. His compositions often weave together satirical social commentary, poetic symbolism and art-historical allusions. More information at butlerart.com

The Youngstown Historical Center for Industry and Labor presents a photography exhibition by Richard Hahn titled Grit/Glow, opening Thursday, July 10, and on display through February. Grit/Glow juxtaposes the warmth of orange skies with the stark realities of industry, illustrating the paradox of beauty and hardship. The museum is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Saturdays from Noon to 4:00 pm.

The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibit Fred Staloff: Origins of a Modernist, from Sunday, September 7 through Sunday, Noveember 16. Fred Staloff, the distinguished New Jersey painter explores not only brilliant landscapes but also still lifes, portraits, and figurative works. More information at butlerart.com.

The Butler Institute of American Art presents Stroller Art, the first First Thursday of every month through November, 10:00 - 11:00 am. Join the Butler staff for an interactive gallery tour followed by an art activity! The program is intended for infants up to 24 months old with a parent or caregiver.
