The Cleveland Orchestra presents Felix Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony at Blossom Music Center on August 23, at 7:00 pm. Inspired by visiting the ruins of Edinburgh’s (Ed in burr oh) Holyrood Chapel, the Scottish Symphony is a vibrant musical postcard of Mendelssohn’s travels. Also on the program are Camille Saint-Saëns’s (San-Sohn’s) melodious First Cello Concerto — featuring superstar cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason (SHECK-ee CAN-eh MAY-son) — and Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony.
