On Monday, February 19, City Club of the Mahoning Valley will host a debate on the real costs and benefits of the new tax code. 

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, one of the Trump Administration’s signature pieces of legislation, promises tax relief for the middle class, while simultaneously granting significant tax breaks to corporations. This promise has many wondering exactly how the plan will work, and who the winners and losers will be in the short and long terms.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to give his first State of the Union address on January 30th, 2018, to a joint session of Congress. One year into the Trump administration, the Speaker of the House has extended the traditional invitation to the president to "take account of the progress we have made" and "lay out the work that still remains to be done."

On Friday, February 2, WYSU and the McDonough Museum of Art at Youngstown State University will host Mad About the Arts! If you have been there, you know it is great gathering.

Mad tickets are $80 each, with a $65 price for all WYSU and McDonough supporting members, YSU staff, students, and faculty, and for graduates of the YSU College of Creative Arts and Communication (formerly Fine and Performing Arts). Monday, January 22, The City Club of the Mahoning Valley presents "Marching for a Movement: Reflections on the 2017 Women’s March and Next Steps for Equality". The free event is at 7pm at Suzie's Dogs & Drafts, 34 N. Phelps Street in Youngstown.
