Few people love bread and bread-making as much as WYSU's Barbara Krauss, so you can imagine her delight at finding a bread FESTIVAL in Paris during the WYSU tour. Our resident "breadhead" shares her observations.

So... many WYSU fans have been asking for more about the food we had as we traveled through France. I can do that. From the coast of the Mediterranean, to Paris, I took notes, and pictures!

The South of France – where we learn there is more to this country than Paris
Most of the 43 people on the WYSU/Go Head Tour have the same goal: they want to see the City of Light. But before we do, we will explore other towns in France, all very different than Paris, but just as important to the rich history and culture here.

If you want to know exactly how to do something in a country where you do not speak the language, ask your guide. Of course, not everyone has a guide, but all of us traveling in the south of France right now with WYSU and Go Ahead Tours do have one . Here are some tips from the infamous JJ:
1. No one eats dinner in France before 7:30 or 8 pm. Restaurants are empty at 5 or 6. You did not pick a bad place, they are just not expecting you yet!

“Though the light is intense, it’s also soft and tender.” -- Henri Matisse, the artist, who made his home in Nice.
The fifth largest city in France, Nice can be intense. But it is spring, the light is NOT glaring here in the south of France. It is a combination of clouds and sun with no real humidity and enough cloud cover to prevent the sun from being too hot. So what I am saying is … it is just perfect. We are comfortable on Saturday – our full day in Nice -- from beginning to end.
This trip is scheduled for 10 days, starting May 1, 2014. It includes Nice, the Cote d’Azure, Monte Carlo, and Paris, of course! A basic tour price of $3,600 includes airfare, all hotels, many meals, and much more.
