United Eastern Lenape Nation: Healing Mother Earth 8th Annual Native American Powwow

The United Eastern Lenape (leh-NAH-pi) Nation is proud to present their 8th annual Healing Mother Earth Native American Powwow, Friday. August 5 through Sunday, August 7, at Fischer’s Pine Lake, 3796 Maple Road, in Jefferson, Ohio. The Powwow includes dancing, drums, native crafts, vendors, and storytelling. The Grand Entry is at noon each day, the Flags Retreat is at 6:00 pm. Drums and Dancers are welcome to participate.

City of Youngstown: Youngstown Wine and Jazz Concert

Contemporary jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows is the featured artist at this year's Youngstown Wine and Jazz concert on Saturday, July 9, 7:00 - 11:00 pm, on stage in the middle of Wick Avenue, near Central Square in Downtown Youngstown. A selection of wineries and brewery booths will be set up set up near by. Tickets are available at the Covelli Centre Box Office, at ticketmaster.com, or at the gate.

City of Youngstown: Downtown Shutdown

The Youngstown Downtown Shutdown will feature the live, classic rock-n-roll music of The Clarks on stage near Central Square in Downtown Youngstown, on Friday, July 8, 7:00 - 11:00 pm. Tickets are available at the gate.

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church: St. Nicholas Greek Summerfest

The St. Nicholas Greek Summerfest takes place on Thursday, July 7, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm; Friday& Saturday July 8 & 9, 11:00 am - 11:00 pm; and Sunday, July 10, noon - 6:00 pm. The Summerfest includes live music and dancing, Greek food and pastries, and a display of cultural memorabilia, at 220 N. Walnut Street, in Youngstown.

African American Wellness Walk

The African American Heritage Weekend kicks off with the African American Male Wellness Walk - Mahoning Valley's 5K Run/Walk/Bicycle -- on Saturday, August 20th, beginning at 7:00 am, at the Covelli Center Parking Lot, 229 East Front Street, in Youngstown . YSU Summer Festival of the Arts 2

The 18th-annual YSU Summer Festival of the Arts is on Saturday,July 9th & Sunday, July 10th at and around YSU. There is a juried arts fest that features the work of over 75 artists. There will also be dozens of performances, and participation from arts, culture and creative groups. The Festival is part of a larger weekend of events including the Youngstown Wine and Jazz event, St. Nicholas Greek Summerfest, and the 2k16 gospel fest. Mill Creek MetroParks - Fellows Riverside Gardens: Garden Adventure Day

Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks presents Garden Adventure Day on Saturday, June 4, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. This year's theme is "Dig Into Gardening." Participants can follow the Activity Map throughout the Gardens for fun crafts, activities, and performances. Activities include a drum circle, mini-yoga sessions, scavenger hunt, plant and name your own Dahlia, and more. Garden Adventure Day is free and open to the public.

Youngstown Peace Race

The 2018 Youngstown Peace Race is coming up on Sunday, October 21st. The Kid's Run starts at 9:00 am, and the Move Our Mission 2-mile run/walk at 9:30. The 10k racebegins at 10:00 am. Race and registration information available at peacerace.org.
