Mill Creek Metroparks: Naturalist Walk

Mill Creek Metroparks invites you to join a Naturalist Walk with a Park Educator and an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, on Saturday, December 10, at 9 am. The walk provides an opportunity to learn about the Hemlock Wooly Adelgid, a non-native insect that threatens our Eastern Hemlock trees. Meet at the Slippery Rock Pavilion, with parking off Robinson Memorial Drive. Space is limited. Free registration is open until December 8th at millcreekmetroparks.org.

Mill Creek Metroparks: Full Moon Hike

The Mill Creek Metroparks invites you to join a Park Educator for December's Full Moon Two-Mile Hike on the trails around Pioneer Pavilion on Wednesday, December 7th from 6:30 to 8 pm. Dress for the weather and wear hiking boots.  Meet at Pioneer Pavilion Parking Lot on Old Furnace Road, in Youngstown. Register for free by December 5th at millcreekmetroparks.org.


Mill Creek Metroparks: Winter Nights

Mill Creek Metroparks invites you to take a frosty evening stroll in Fellows Riverside Gardens at this year's Winter Nights, on Saturdays: December 3rd, 10th, and 17th, at 5 to 7 pm. The garden grounds will be adorned with dazzling light displays. City of Youngstown: Activities on Central Square

The City of Youngstown presents Activities on Central Square, on Friday, December 2nd, beginning at 4 pm. with the Flea on Phelps. The Holiday Parade will begin at 6:00 pm, and the Christmas Tree Lighting will begin immediately following the parade, at approximately 7:15 pm. There will also be events on the grandstand, pictures with Santa, and much more.  

Youngstown Flea: Flea on Phelps Holiday Market

The Youngstown Flea presents Flea On Phelps, a special edition, outdoor night Market, on Friday, Dec. 2nd, from 4 pm to 8 pm. It will be onthe city’s newest pedestrian path along Phelps Street, in downtown Youngstown. It’s paired with the Youngstown's, Annual Parade & Tree Lighting

Shop Hubbard Ohio's semi annual event will be held on October 15th from 10 am to 4 pm. This 5th annual fall shopping day will highlight more than 50 Brick and Mortar and pop up businesses on Liberty and Main Streets in Hubbard. More details at shophubbardohio.com. 


Ursuline Sisters Mission: 8th Annual Nun Run

The Ursuline Sisters HIV/AIDS Ministry and Ursuline Preschool & Kindergarten are hosting the 8th annual Nun Run 5k, 1-mile walk, and kids’ run. This year, the event will be a hybrid of an in-person event as well as a virtual one! The in-person event will take place on Saturday, October 1, at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, in Canfield. Registration will open on race day at the Ursuline Center auditorium at 7:30 a.m. A Kids’ Fun Run begins at 8:15 am, followed by the 1-Mile Walk at 8:30 am, and the 5k Race at 9 am 


2022 Youngstown Peace Race

The 2022 Youngstown Peace Race is coming up on Sunday, October 9th. The 200-Meter Kids Fun Run for ages 10 & under begins at 9 am, and the 2-Mile Run/Walk begins at 9:30 am. Both begin and end on the Federal Plaza in downtown Youngstown. The featured 10k Race winding through scenic Mill Creek Park begins at 10:00 am, with bus transportation to the starting line provided in downtown Youngstown. Race and registration information available at ytownpeacerace.org. 

Ohio Nonviolence Week: Twelfth Annual Nonviolence Parade and Rally

Ohio Nonviolence Week presents the Twelfth Annual Nonviolence Parade and Rally, on Sunday, October 2nd at 3:00 pm in Youngstown. The parade starts at West Wood Street and Wick Avenue, and proceeds downtown. Rally location is at the Youngstown Amphitheater. The parade is open to all nonprofit organizations. Youngstown Area Community Concert Band: Music with Friends in the Park with Friends

The Youngstown Area Community Concert Band under the baton of Joe Pellegrini will present their annual Music in the Park with Friends concert on Sunday, July 24, 4:00 pm, at Boardman Park.  This concert will the Geauga County Fair Band under the direction of Jack Blazey.  The concert is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a great afternoon of music.
