YSU's Dana School of Music: Concert Band and Wind Ensemble Concert

The YSU Dana School of Music presents the YSU Concert Band and Wind Ensemble as they perform their first concert of the semester on Sunday, October 16th at 4 p.m. The Concert Band, directed by Dr. Kate Ferguson, will feature music by Chance, de Haan, Grainger, and Sousa. The Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. Michael S. Butler, is performing a program entitled “Bach to the Future” and will feature music by Bach, Copley, Nelson, Sullivan, and Williams. Tickets at DeYorpac.org. 

YSU's Pipino Performing Arts Series: Ailey II

YSU's Pipino Performing Arts Series presents Ailey II. Ailey II was founded in 1974 as the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble. The company embodies Ailey’s pioneering mission to establish an extended cultural community that provides dance performances, training, and community programs for all people.  Ailey II will performance at YSU's Ford Theater in Bliss Hall, on October 17th, at 7: pm. Youngstown Symphony Orchestra: Ghostbusters

The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, continuing its 20-22 20-23 season on Saturday, October 8 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, October 9 at 2:30 pm in the DeYor Performing Arts Center, in downtown Youngstown. Under the direction of guest conductor Erik Ochsner (OX-ner), the YSO will perform Elmer Bernstein's [EL-mur BURN-steens] score to the film Ghostbusters, while the movie is screened live. Stambaugh Auditorium: The U.S Field Band Concert Band & Soldiers' Chorus

Stambaugh Auditorium presents the concert Heroes, performed by the U.S. Field Band Concert Band and Soldiers' Chorus on Thursday, November 3rd at 7:30 pm, at Stambaugh Auditorium, on Fifth Avenue, in Youngstown.  Heroes is a celebration of people who have gone above and beyond for their communities. Stambaugh Auditorium: The Monster, Silent Film

Stambaugh Auditorium presents the silent film, The Monster, with live accompaniment by organist Jay Spencer on the Stambaugh's E.M. Skinner Pipe Organ, on Sunday, October 30th at 4:00 pm.
