Youngstown Downtown JazzFest

The Downtown JazzFest in downtown Youngstown features saxophonist Paul Taylor on Saturday, July 11 at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Covelli Centre Box Office, or at Giant Eagle Ticketmaster Outlets - $8 in advance and $10 day of show. The show will be held rain or shine.

YSU Summer Festival of the Arts 2019

Youngstown State University presents the Summer Festival of the Arts on Saturday, July 13th from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, July 14th from 11 am to 5 pm. This event showcases 75 local and regional artists in the Artists' Marketplace; craft making at a Children's Hands On Art Tent; the Festival of Nations, food; and music, theater, and dance performances. Simply Slavic Festival

The SIMPLY SLAVIC  FESTIVAL takes place on Saturday, June 20th, from noon to midnight in Downtown Youngstown.  Festival highlights include live music and dance performances, homemade food, children’s activities, Slavic story telling and a bonfire.  More information at Simply Slavic dot com.

WaterFire Sharon PA

WaterFire Sharon PA is a unique arts and culture festival that occurs three times a year along the Shenango River in beautiful downtown Sharon. The final one in 2015 is this Saturday. The day-long event offers music, food, fine artisans, craft vendors, family activities, and interactive art experiences. Admission is free to the public. Actual WaterFire performances begin at dusk. The Farmers’ Table Event

The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association presents The Farmers' Table at the Maplestar Farm in Auburn Township, Ohio, on Sunday, August 30th at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $125 and include a tour of the organic Maplestar farm, hors d’oeuvres, a four-course meal, and wine. All proceeds will support OEFFA’s work to grow Ohio’s sustainable and organic agriculture movement. More information is available at oeffa.org/farmerstable.

Friends of the Mahoning River: Riverfest Celebration 2019

The Friends of the Mahoning River present the 8th-Annual Riverfest Celebration 2019 on Sunday, June 2nd from Noon to 5:00 pm at the B & O Station, 530 Mahoning Avenue, in Youngstown. This annual celebration will include educational and historical displays, children's activities, crafts, kayak and canoe rides, food, music, and more. Annual Honoring Our Ancestors Intertribal Powwow

The Annual Honoring Our Ancestors Intertribal Powwow takes place on Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 21, at the Ashtabula Antique Engine Club Grounds, 4026 US 322, Williamsfield, Ohio. Gates and vendors open daily 10 am to 6 pm. The grand entry is at noon. There will be Native American food, vendors, history, and storytelling! Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival: Run Boy Run

The Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival is presenting a feature film, Run Boy Run, as the final film in the spring festival on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00 PM at Cinemark Tinseltown in Boardman.  Run Boy Run tells the extraordinary true story of a Polish boy who seeks the kindness of others in his solitary struggle to outlast the Nazi occupation and keep alive his Jewish faith. 

Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival: Above and Beyond

The Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival is presenting the documentary film Above and Beyond, on Sunday, May 3rd, at 1:30 PM  at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown. As the first major feature-length documentary about the foreign airmen in the 1948 War, Above and Beyond brings together new interviews as well as aerial footage to present a fascinating, little-known tale.

Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival: The Testament

The Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival, presents the Israeli film, The Testament, on Sunday, September 16, at 6:30 PM, at Movies 8 in Boardman. It tells the story of Yoel, a senior Holocaust researcher, is in the midst of a widely covered legal battle with powerful forces in Austria, concerning a brutal massacre of Jews that took place toward the end of WWII in the village of Lensdorf.   Tickets available at Movies 8 Boardman.
