Bach Choir: Langston Hughes: Harlem’s Jazz Poet

The Bach Choir will present Langston Hughes: Harlem’s Jazz Poet, a concert of Hughes’ poetry set to music, on Saturday, February 8th at 7:30 pm; and Sunday, February 9th at 4 pm, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 250 North Highland Avenue, in Pittsburgh. Hughes' jazz poems, such as “In Time of Silver Rain” and “I Dream a World,” will serve as lyrics for a program of choral arrangements.] Tickets available at bachchoirpittsburgh.org

St. John's Episcopal Church presents Witches:Revered and Reviled, a concert featuring Burning River Baroque, on Friday, March 20, at 7:00 pm, at St. John's church, on Wick Avenue, in Youngstown.  Burning River Baroque creates Baroque music programs that inspire dialogue about contemporary social issues. Witches: Revered and Reviled explores repertoire that tells the stories of Circe, the Witch of Endor, and the Furies, in a broad range of national styles and traditions of the 17th century.
