YSU Legacy Forests Planting

Web Only
Event Description:

On Thursday, November 18, Youngstown State University students will be planting 1200 trees at Mill Creek MetroParks Collier Reserve. The yearly project is part of the YSU Legacy Forests’ effort to reduce greenhouse gases by planting micro-forests in the Mahoning Valley. The goal is to plant one tree for every incoming YSU freshman.  Trees help slow climate warming by sequestering carbon dioxide in their wood, roots and forest soils. YSU is proud to partner with Mill Creek MetroParks in helping to mitigate climate change. For program information, write to ysulegacyforests@gmail.com.
