McKinley Memorial Library: 6th Annual McKinley Christmas

The McKinley Memorial Library presents the 6th Annual McKinley Christmas, on Saturday, December 8, noon - 4:00 pm. A trolley will shuttle guests between the McKinley Birthplace Home, the McKinley Memorial Museum, and the Ward-Thomas House, for live music, tours, and holiday cheer. John J McDonough Museum of Art: Opening Reception for The Biennial Faculty Exhibition

The opening reception for the YSU Biennial Faculty Exhibition Immersion, will take place at the John J McDonough Museum of Art on Friday, January 26 from 5 - 7 pm. This biennial exhibition of current research by Department of Art faculty is an exploration of innovation and tradition.  It will be on display through Friday, March 2.

YSU John J McDonough Museum of Art: November Exhibiions

The YSU McDonough Museum of Art will feature the 1st year Master of Fine Arts Collaborative, the NEXUS Grant Recipient Exhibitions, the Fall Graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition, and the Post Baccalaurate and Extended Studio Practice Exhibition in the galleries, through December 9. 

YSU Department of Art: Fall Graduating BFA Exhibition

The YSU Department of Art presents the Fall Graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition, from Friday, November 17 through Saturday,December 9, in the John J. McDonough Museum of Art, on the YSU campus. the show features works by students achieving completion of the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. [An opening reception will be held on Friday, November 17, 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  Museum hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 11 am - 4 pm.

 

YSU Melnick Medical Museum : Pick Your Poison: Intoxicating Pleasures and Medical Prescriptions banner exhibit

The YSU Melnick Medical Museum presents the six- banner traveling exhibition Pick Your Poison: Intoxicating Pleasures & Medical Prescriptions, through Friday, October 27, in the atrium of Cushwa Hall on the YSU campus.  The exhibition explores the factors that have shaped the changing definitions of some of our most potent drugs, from tobacco to alcohol, opium, marijuana, and cocaine.  It was produced by the National Library of Medicine and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

 

The Soap Gallery: Shutter

The Soap Gallery presents Shutter, a photography show featuring Ron Cabuno, Paul Grilli, and Stephen Poullas, opening on Friday, October 6th at 6:00 pm, with live music and refreshments, and continuing through October 27th at The Soap Gallery in downtown Youngstown.

YSU Department of Art: Foundations Student Exhibition

The YSU Department of Art will display the Foundations Student Exhibition, through Friday September 8, in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery, in Bliss Hall, on the YSU campus. The Foundation Student Exhibtion highlights some of the work produced in the first year courses during the previous academic year.

McDonough Museum: Veiled Tolerance, Portraits of Hijab and Headscarf Women

Veiled Tolerance, portraits of hijab and headscarf women, by Chris McCullough, with an installation by Alison Begala is on display at YSU's John J McDonough Museum, through Friday, November 3. The Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 am-4 pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Back to the World, a visual translation of works by Gertrude Stein, featuring YSU Department of Art students is one of four exciting exhibitions taking place at the YSU John J McDonough Museum of Art, through-November 3. The Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 am-4 pm. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
