YSU McDonough Museum of Art: Summer Exhibitions

The YSU McDonough Museum of Art presents two summer exhibitions: Studio Conversations in Art Education, and Centennial Impressions: A Celebration of Prints, Saturday, June 8 through Saturday, July 20.   A Celebration of Prints features masterworks of modern and contemporary printmaking from the Butler Institute of american Art permanent collection. 

Mahoning Valley Historical Society: Broadcasting Summer Day Camp

Mahoning Valley Historical Society: Hands-On-History Open House

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will host Hands-On-History Open Houses at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center and Arms Family Museum every Wednesday in July, at 1:00 pm. Each week will feature a different local history theme with Hands-On activities including immersive programs, arts and crafts, games, toys, artifacts, dress-up clothing, and more. More information about this free event at 


The Butler Institute of American Art: 83rd National Midyear Show

The Butler Institute of American Art presents the 83rd National Midyear Show, a juried exhibition that includes accepted works in all two dimensional media, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, drawings, prints, photographs and digital. This free exhibition will be through Sunday, July 28th.  

The McDonough Museum of Art: Centennial Impressions Exhibition

The McDonough Museum of Art presents a public reception for the Centennial Impressions Exhibition, on Saturday, June 8th, 5 - 7 pm. The Butler Institute of American Art: Mark Perrott: Ancient Ink

The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibit  Mark Perrott: Ancient Ink, on display through Sunday September 1.  Perrott turns his camera to the now increasing tribe of highly decorated, aging, and graying baby boomers.  Details at Butlerart dot com.

Mill Creek MetroParks: Plein Air Art

Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks presents Plein Air Art, through Sunday, June 2. Plein Air is the French term for open air painting. A local group of nearly 80 members paint favorite outdoor scenes throughout the area.  


Portland Locomotive Works: 27th Midwest Scale Train Show

Portland Locomotive Works presents the 27th Midwest Scale Train Show, Friday, March 21, 1:00 - 7:00 pm, and Saturday, March 23, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. at the Salem, OH Center Plex.  There will be manufacturers, clinics, operating layouts, and a model contest.
