The YSU Dana School of Music presents a Piano Studio Recital on Monday December 1 at 7:30 pm in the Bliss Recital Hall on the YSU campus.  It is free and open to the public.

Butler Music at Noon: Dana Clarinet Ensemle

The YSU Dana School of Music presents a Music at Noon concert, featuring the Dana Clarinet Ensemble on Wednesday, November 19 at 12:15pm at the Butler Institute of American Art.

YSU Dana School of Music Master Class: C Street Brass

The YSU Dana School of Music presents a master class by C Street Brass on Friday, November 14 at noon in the Bliss Recital Hall on the YSU campus.

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society: Charles Darling

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society welcomes Charles Darling to the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center for a free lecture entitled The Civil War in Song, on Tuesday, October 28, at 7:00 pm.  Darling is an Emeritus Professor of History at YSU.  He is the author of two books on folk music, including Messages of Dissent, Struggle Songs in American history which highlights some Civil War era music.  Darling has been a member of the Youngstown Torch Club since 1970s, and he hosts Folk Festival on WYSU.

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society: Walking Tours of Oak Hill Cemetery

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s History to Go program for October will be guided walking tours of Oak Hill Cemetery.  The free event will be on Saturday, October 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  A welcome table will be located at the entrance to Oak Hill Cemetery at 344 Oak Hill Avenue.  Tour guides will lead visitors to several locations in the cemetery, providing history and historic images.

Mercer County Candidates Forum

The League of Women Voters of Mercer County Pennsylvania and Stony Point Grange, both nonpartisan organizations, have joined to sponsor a Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. at the Greenville VFW, 54 Conneaut Lake Road, Greenville, PA.  We have invited candidates running for Representative in the 7th, 8th and 17th district as well as those running in the 50th Senatorial District to participate.  Time will be allotted for each candidate to introduce him/herself, perhaps state why they are running for that particular position, mention qualifications

Youngstown Inner City Gardens Bowls of Steel Chili Cook Off

The Youngstown Inner City Garden presents the Bowls of Steel Chili Cook Off, at Phoenix House, 850 North Meridian Road, in Youngstown, on Saturday, October 25 at 4:30 - 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at Toba in the Southern Park Mall, Big A Drive Through, Friends Roastery, Kingly Detailing, Defend Youngstown, and Liberty Tax Service.

League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown Public Judicial Forum

The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown is sponsoring a Public Forum to meet the judicial candidates, on Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, on Elm Street in Youngstown.

Night of Music Celebration at Elizabeth Baptist Church

The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Youngstown & Vicinity will host its third annual Night of Music Celebration at Elizabeth Baptist Church, at 1210 Himrod Avenue, on Friday, November 21st at 6:30 pm.  Area law enforcement agencies and first responders have been invited to attend the event to be recognized for their commitment to public service.  The event is free and open to the public. 

Villa Maria Nativity Display

The Villa Maria Nativity Display is an annual indoor Advent tradition featuring hundreds of nativity sets from around the world, with entertainment from musicians, choirs, a bell choir & more.  It is open December 6 and 7, & 13 and 14, noon - 5:00 pm at the Villa Maria Community Center, in Villa Maria, Pa.  The Villa Farm will be open then, as well.
