Mahoning Valley Chorale: In the Good Old Summertime Concert

The Mahoning Valley Chorale, under the direction of Kris Harper, will present their annual summer concert, “In the Good Old Summertime” on Sunday, August 9 at 2:00 pm, at Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church,on Route 224, in Poland. The concert will feature light music celebrating the relaxing days of summer. Tickets can be purchased at 330-707-2144 or at the door.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel: 17th Annual Italian Festival

The 17th Annual Italian Festival at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Youngstown scheduled for Thursday,July 23 - Sunday, July 26 on the parish grounds. Hours are 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm on Saturday, and 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm on Sunday. There will be food, an Italian auction, craft vendors, a dunk tank with popular locals, dancing, kids games, and much more.

WYSU Summer Memberhip Party

Lit Youngstown: Sean Posey Reading

Lit Youngstown presents a reading by Sean Posey, local photographer, essayist, and historian, on Wednesday August 5, at 7:00 pm, at Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts on N. Phelps St. in downtown Youngstown. New Castle Playhouse: Damn Yankees

The New Castle Playhouse presents "Damn Yankees," at the Augustine Auditorium, this weekend. Evening performances are at 7:30 and the Sunday matinee is at 2:00. "Damn Yankees" tales the tale of middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, who trades his soul to the Devil, also known as Mr. Applegate, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant against the NY Yankees. Geneva Library: NE Geek Read and Greet

The NE GEEK Read and Greet event at the Geneva Library takes place on Saturday July 25 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event features face painting, cosplay, storytelling, and a character building panel. Kids in K-5th grades can enter the “Tell Your Hero’s Story Contest”. The winner will receive an all-day free game play and two admission passes to the 2015 NE Geek Expo held in October. Entrants must be present of July 25 to win.

Step Up to Vote Program: Federal Voting Rights Act 50th Anniversary

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Planning Committee of Mahoning County will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Federal Voting Rights Act at a program, “Step Up to Vote,” on Thursday, August 6, at 6:00 p.m. at the Mill Creek Community Center, 496 Glenwood Ave., in Youngstown. Beaver Creek State Park Car Show & Pancake Breakfast

The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park present the Beaver Creek State Park Car Show & Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, July 19. The Car Show is from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm at Pioneer Village in the Park.
