Warren Civic Chorus: Handel's "Messiah" Auditions

The Warren Civic Chorus will hold a potluck dinner to begin rehearsals to begin for this seasons performance of Handel's "Messiah" on Monday, September 28th at 6:30 PM at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren. Participation is open to all who have an interest in singing with no auditions or tryouts necessary. Regular rehearsals will be held at 7:30 PM each Monday evening and the performance will be presented on Sunday, December 6th. More information can be found at AGMorales36@gmail.com.

New Castle Playhouse: Holiday Gift Biz-R

The New Castle Playhouse is presenting "Holiday Gift Biz-R" at the Annex Theater on Sunday, November 1st, from 11:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Children can enter the Build-a-Scarecrow contest at 11:00 AM. New Castle Playhouse: Incorruptible

New Castle Playhouse is presenting "Incorruptible, A Dark Comedy About the Dark Ages," by Michael Hollinger in the Annex Theater on Thursday, October 8th through Sunday, October 11th. Film Screening: Maestra; and 1960s Cuban Literacy Campaign Discussion

Catherine Murphy will show her film "Maestra" and discuss the Cuban Literacy Campaign in the early 1960s on Thursday, October 1st, at 7:00 pm, at the First Presbyterian Church, on Wick Avenue in Youngstown. [Thousands of young people went out into remote areas of Cuba to teach people how to write their names and how to read. The campaign resulted in Cuba's elimination of illiteracy.]

YSU Melnick Medical Museum: Harry Potter's World: Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine

The YSU Melnick Medical Museum presents the exhibit Harry Potter's World: Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine through Friday, October 9, at various locations around Youngstown. This banner exhibit from the National Library of Medicine incorporates several 15th and 16th century thinkers and how their work is represented in the Harry Potter books. John Granger lecture "Literary Alchemy: The Secret Magic-Formula of Harry Potter and Today’s Best Selling Books"

The YSU Melnick Medical Museum presents a lecture by John Granger entitled "Literary Alchemy: The Secret Magic-Formula of Harry Potter and Today’s Best Selling Books," on Tuesday, September 29, at 7:00 pm, at Room 132 of YSU's Debartolo Hall. This event is FREE and open the public. [There is also a banner exhibit "Harry Potter's World: Renaissance Science, Medicine, and Magic" from the National Library of Medicine. It will be set up in the lobby of Debartolo Hall on the day of the lecture.]

Boardman Park Outdoor Family Day

Boardman Township Park in Youngstown is hosting Outdoor Family Day on Saturday, September 12th, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All ages are welcome to enjoy archery, fishing, live animals, wagon rides, a live band, and much more! The Soap Gallery: Opening Gala and Art Walk

Youngstown's newest fine art gallery, The Soap Gallery, will host their Grand Opening Gala and Art Walk on Friday, October 2nd, at 5:00 pm at 117 S. Champion Street. The Opening will feature artists who unite the arts in Youngstown and represent a range of artistic styles. Live music will be provided by Third Class and Bitter Alms.
