The next edition of the WYSU Need to Know Newsletter will come out in September 2015!
We have decided to print three newsletters per year, taking the summer off to promote the station in other ways -- like participating in YSU Summer Festival of the Arts, and planning a WYSU member party for August 26 at Magic Tree in Boardman. So the September newsletter will be packed with photos and news about our summer activities, as well as information about events on our calendar this fall.
The YSU Board of Trustees General Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 15 at 3:00pm, in the Trustees Meeting Room in Tod Hall on the YSU campus. The YSU Board of Trustees could address WYSU business at this meeting. The meeting is open to the public.
Before her much-anticipated appearance in Youngstown on June 12, Krista Tippett, a Peabody Award-winning broadcaster and New York Times bestselling author, can be heard on 88.5 WYSU, as a guest of Doing Good. Gina Marinelli, the host of Doing Good, recently interviewed Tippett, and a portion of that conversation will air on WYSU Tuesday, June 9 at 5:45 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.
Due to transmitter malfunction, WYSU's HD signal has been disabled, though our analog transmission is operating normally. Listeners with HD radios will only be able to tune to our analog signal until the transmitter can be repaired. WYSU engineers are working on the issue and hope to restore the HD signal by early next week. We're sorry for any inconvenience.
Music can inspire art, art can inspire music, and both inspire a stunning performance by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on May 20 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle. Along with the Hoyt Center for the Arts, the Symphony will present The Art of Music, a special celebration of music and art led by resident conductor Fawzi Haimor which includes pieces by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and more.
The Youngstown State University's Board of Trustees is WYSU-FM's supervisory board. The Board's general meetings and Institutional Engagement Committee Meetings address WYSU business. These meetings are open to the public.
The WYSU Advisory Board meetings are also open to the public.
Notices for all meetings will be posted on our website - wysu.org, and announced on the air.
