Policy List


Day Sponsor

  1. Length
    Up to 15 seconds (two or three sentences).

  2. Frequency
    Weekday day sponsors are guaranteed a total of 10 spots between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Weekend day sponsors are guaranteed a total of 10 spots between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, distributed around network programs.

  3. Content
    Announcements may be used to as memorials, celebrations, or to publicize events by individuals or non-profit organizations. They should be restricted to answering the basic who, what, when, and where questions (not necessarily why). All day sponsorships must follow public broadcasting underwriting guidelines (no calls to action and no value-laden descriptions).The content should be non-controversial, although announcing an event for some organizations will inevitably be controversial to some people, something that cannot be avoided. Day sponsorships promoting specific religious or political positions will not be accepted, but sponsorships publicizing a religious event or special day, and sponsorships listing the services of non-profit businesses and organizations, are acceptable.

  4. Exclusivity
    To provide more members with the opportunity to get the day they want, two sponsorships per day will be allowed.

  5. Requests
    Day sponsors have the opportunity to make two classical music requests. The air staff will do their best to honor the requests, but it cannot be guarantee that the requests will be played, or that they will be played in their entirety.

  6. Cost

Donor List

Your personal information is safe with us. The information you provide when making a pledge to WYSU-FM is protected. We have a strict policy against sharing our donor list to anyone outside of Youngstown State University.

WYSU-FM neither sells, rents, leases, loans, trades, gives, donates, transfers its donor names with any local, state, or federal candidate for public office, authorized committee for such candidate, or political party or any purpose whatsoever, except as required by law or judicial process. WYSU-FM maintains active control of its donor list, and takes all appropriate measures to ensure against unauthorized use if its list. WYSU-FM will inform donors of a potential for sale, rental, lease, loan, trade, donation, transfer, or exchange of their names and personally identifiable information to any nonaffiliated third party (all extremely unlikely). It will give the donor the opportunity to direct that such information not be disclosed to a nonaffiliated third party, and give the donor an explanation of how to exercise that nondisclosure option.

Member Privacy

WYSU-FM maintains active control of its membership and donor lists, and takes all appropriate measures to ensure against unauthorized use of such lists including requiring any third party, including but not limited to brokers, mail-list management organizations, friends organizations, fundraising organizations, or advertising or public relations agencies to abide by WYSU-FM's compliance requirements, except as required by law or judicial process. Furthermore, WYSU-FM refrains from disclosing contributor or donor names to other personally identifiable information to any non-affiliated third party. WYSU-FM would inform members of any potential sale, rental, lease, loan, trade, gift, donation, transfer, or exchange of their names and personally identifiable information, and would offer a means by which the names may be suppressed upon request; and suppress names as requested, except as required by law or judicial process.
