Ed Goist, a musician at heart, naturally found his place at WYSU 88.5 FM. Since 2005, Ed has been raising funds and developing partnerships between the station and community.
Ed grew up in Youngstown and attended Youngstown State University where he earned a degree in philosophy in 1982. Early in his career, Ed worked in sales management, direct sales, and non-profit fundraising while raising his family. Ed applied to WYSU after hearing Barbara Krauss announce on the air that a position was open. His voice is now broadcast during the spring and fall pledge drives. He loves working at WYSU because "it is intellectually stimulating, fun, rewarding, and incredibly educational."
In his free time, Ed enjoys playing stringed instruments including the mandolin, guitar, and bass guitar, as well as spending time with his wife, Laura, and his three children, Mindy, Dan, and Robin. He says one of his greatest accomplishments was completing the Outward Bound Joshua Tree Desert Survival Wilderness Expedition
