O.C.C.H.A. Inc., the Hispanic American Civic and Cultural Organization will host its Fifth International Latino Food Festival from noon to 8:00 pm, on Saturday, July 23. The annual festival takes place at the O.C.C.H.A. Social Hall, 3660 Shirley Road, in Youngstown. Experience a taste of Hispanic cuisine through authentic handmade food delicacies, desserts, and beverages. Festival goers will be treated to traditional dances, musical performances, and a DJ throughout the day. A piñata, children’s activities, and raffles will also be featured. Admission and parking are free.
The United Eastern Lenape (leh-NAH-pi) Nation is proud to present their 8th annual Healing Mother Earth Native American Powwow, Friday. August 5 through Sunday, August 7, at Fischer’s Pine Lake, 3796 Maple Road, in Jefferson, Ohio. The Powwow includes dancing, drums, native crafts, vendors, and storytelling. The Grand Entry is at noon each day, the Flags Retreat is at 6:00 pm. Drums and Dancers are welcome to participate.
Contemporary jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows is the featured artist at this year's Youngstown Wine and Jazz concert on Saturday, July 9, 7:00 - 11:00 pm, on stage in the middle of Wick Avenue, near Central Square in Downtown Youngstown. The St. Nicholas Greek Summerfest takes place on Thursday, July 7, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm; Friday& Saturday July 8 & 9, 11:00 am - 11:00 pm; and Sunday, July 10, noon - 6:00 pm. The Summerfest includes live music and dancing, Greek food and pastries, and a display of cultural memorabilia, at 220 N. Walnut Street, in Youngstown.
The African American Heritage Weekend kicks off with the African American Male Wellness Walk - Mahoning Valley's 5K Run/Walk/Bicycle -- on Saturday, August 20th, beginning at 7:00 am, at the Covelli Center Parking Lot, 229 East Front Street, in Youngstown . The 18th-annual YSU Summer Festival of the Arts is on Saturday,July 9th & Sunday, July 10th at and around YSU. There is a juried arts fest that features the work of over 75 artists. There will also be dozens of performances, and participation from arts, culture and creative groups. The Festival is part of a larger weekend of events including the Youngstown Wine and Jazz event, St. Nicholas Greek Summerfest, and the 2k16 gospel fest. Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks presents Garden Adventure Day on Saturday, June 4, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. This year's theme is "Dig Into Gardening." Participants can follow the Activity Map throughout the Gardens for fun crafts, activities, and performances. Activities include a drum circle, mini-yoga sessions, scavenger hunt, plant and name your own Dahlia, and more. Garden Adventure Day is free and open to the public.

Both begin on Federal Plaza in downtown Youngstown. The 10k race, includind a race walk division for the first time, begins at 10:00 am and winds its way through Mill Creek Metro Parks, finishing downtown.
