Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County is holding its 15th annual Home Run 5K/2k Fun Walk on Saturday, November 1, at 9:00 am, at Holy Family Church in Poland, Ohio. Preregistration is $15 through October 31. Race Day registration is $18. The kids' Race is free for children ten and under. The Mahoning Valley Historical Society presents an after-work walking tour of Downtown Youngstown, on Thursday, September 11. The event is part of the Young Leaders History-To-Go Series and will begin at 5:30 pm at the Erie Terminal building on Westt Commerce Street, with a brief tour of that recently restored property. The Yellow Brick Place Color vs Cancer 5K Color Run/Walk takes place at Austintown Township Park, on Sunday, September 12, with registration beginning at 7:30 am, and the race at 10:00. This Color Run is an untimed event that emphasizes fun over competition. Runners begin dressed in clean white t-shirts and pass through a dyed cornstarch color station every kilometer. The Dana School of Music announces an outdoor concert by the YSU Wind Ensemble on Wednesday, September 3, at 7:00 pm, at Harrison Common, located on Walnut Street across from the MVR.
