Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past: Sixth Annual Nonviolence Parade and Rally

The Sixth Annual Nonviolence Parade and Rally is scheduled for Sunday, October 2, at 3:00 pm, in downtown Youngstown. The parade will start on W. Wood and Wick streets and proceed downtown. It is open to all nonprofit organizations. This is the kickoff of nonviolence week in the state of Ohio. More information at pennywells@global.net.

Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation: East Side Better Block

In partnership with Lincoln Knolls Block watch, Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC) is hosting a "Better Blocks" event on the East Side of Youngstown, on Saturday, August 13, 2016, noon - 4:00 pm. "Better Blocks" will take place in the Lincoln Knolls Plaza on McCartney Roadd. The event will include pop up businesses, kids activities, food, a Bike Helmet and book bag giveaway, art gallery, vendors, and outdoor seating.

City of Ashtabula presents Big Bands on the Beach

The City of Ashtabula presents Big Bands on the Beach Summer Concert Series in Ashtabula features the Tony Esposito Big Band performing tunes from the 1930s and 1940s on Sunday, August 21, 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Walnut Beach. the conccert is free and open to the public. Concession stand, restrooms, free parking, and handicapped ramp available.

Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens: Summer Garden Party

The Friends of Fellow Riverside Gardens present with the Annual Summer Garden Party in support of the Gardens. The event starts at 6:30 on Friday, July 29, with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing outdoors in the botanical garden.

Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau: Harvey S Firestone Park Festival of the Arts

The Harvey S. Firestone Park Festival of the Arts will be held held Saturday, August 6, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, at Firestone Recreation Park in Columbiana. At this event will be handmade craft vendors, antique dealers, food concessions, a vintage tractor show and live local entertainment. Admission is free.

Ronald McDonald House Charities: McD's Sock Run

The McD's Sock Run, sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley & Western Pennsylvania, takes place on Sunday, September 18, at the Federal Plaza in downtown Youngstown. The Free kid's run begins at 11:30 am, and the 5K/Walk begins at noon. More information at McdsSockRun.org.

OCCHA Food and Culture Festival

O.C.C.H.A. Inc., the Hispanic American Civic and Cultural Organization will host its Fifth International Latino Food Festival from noon to 8:00 pm, on Saturday, July 23. The annual festival takes place at the O.C.C.H.A. Social Hall, 3660 Shirley Road, in Youngstown. Experience a taste of Hispanic cuisine through authentic handmade food delicacies, desserts, and beverages. Festival goers will be treated to traditional dances, musical performances, and a DJ throughout the day. A piñata, children’s activities, and raffles will also be featured. Admission and parking are free.

United Eastern Lenape Nation: Healing Mother Earth 8th Annual Native American Powwow

The United Eastern Lenape (leh-NAH-pi) Nation is proud to present their 8th annual Healing Mother Earth Native American Powwow, Friday. August 5 through Sunday, August 7, at Fischer’s Pine Lake, 3796 Maple Road, in Jefferson, Ohio. The Powwow includes dancing, drums, native crafts, vendors, and storytelling. The Grand Entry is at noon each day, the Flags Retreat is at 6:00 pm. Drums and Dancers are welcome to participate.

City of Youngstown: Youngstown Wine and Jazz Concert

Contemporary jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows is the featured artist at this year's Youngstown Wine and Jazz concert on Saturday, July 9, 7:00 - 11:00 pm, on stage in the middle of Wick Avenue, near Central Square in Downtown Youngstown. A selection of wineries and brewery booths will be set up set up near by. Tickets are available at the Covelli Centre Box Office, at ticketmaster.com, or at the gate.

City of Youngstown: Downtown Shutdown

The Youngstown Downtown Shutdown will feature the live, classic rock-n-roll music of The Clarks on stage near Central Square in Downtown Youngstown, on Friday, July 8, 7:00 - 11:00 pm. Tickets are available at the gate.
