The Warren Civic Chorus presents two holiday seasonal performances of George Frideric Handel's "Messiah," on Sunday, December 6, at 4:00 and 7:00 pm, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE, in Warren. Admission is free. Dr. Hae-Jong Lee will lead the Chorus, members of the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, and local professionals soloists. The McKinley Christmas will take place in downtown Niles,on Saturday, December 5 afternoon from noon to 4:00 pm. There is free admission to all of the sites, free parking, and a free trolley to shuttle visitors between the sites. The historic Ward Thomas House will be offering tours, President McKinley will be greeting visitors at the McKinley Memorial and the McKinley Family will be greeting visitors at the McKinley House.
The Dom Leone Writing Competition Benefit/Variety Show will be held on Friday, November 27, at 7:00 pm, at Ursuline High School. There will be music, dance, magic, comedy, comedy theater, and readings by past winners of the writing competition. The Dom Leone Writing Competition is held annually for students in the Youngstown area parochial schools.
Ballet Western Reserve presents "A Youngstown Nutcracker" on Saturday December 5th. at 2:00 and 7:00 pm at Powers Auditorium.
