Shrine String Quartet Concert

The Shrine String Quartet will perform works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Grieg, on Saturday, May 23, 7:30 - 10:30 pm, at the Rust Belt Tap House, on West Commerce Street, in downtown Youngstown, . The Shrine Quartet members Katie O'Neill, Natalie Sayhoun, and Father Vit Fiala will be joined by guest artist Joseph Kromholtz, the newly appointed violin professor at YSU.

Annual Honoring Our Ancestors Intertribal Powwow

The Annual Honoring Our Ancestors Intertribal Powwow takes place on Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 21, at the Ashtabula Antique Engine Club Grounds, 4026 US 322, Williamsfield, Ohio. Gates and vendors open daily 10 am to 6 pm. The grand entry is at noon. There will be Native American food, vendors, history, and storytelling! The Salem Youth Chorus: How Can I Keep From Singing?

The Salem Youth Chorus presents a concert of sacred choral music titled "How Can I Keep From Singing?" at a number of locations throughout May: St. Peter of the Fields Church, 3487 Old Forge Road, in Rootstown, on Friday, May 15, at 7:30 pm; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel Avenue, in Youngstown, on Saturday, May 16, at 7:30 pm; St. Patrick’s Church, 1420 Oak Hill Avenue, in Youngstown, on Sunday, May 17, at 2:00 pm; and First United Methodist Church, 200 W 5th Street, in East Liverpool, on Sunday, May 24, at 7:30 pm.

National Federation of Music Clubs: NATIONAL MUSIC WEEK

The National Federation of Music Clubs is sponsioring NATIONAL MUSIC WEEK this week. The theme, “Music – Heartbeat of the Soul,” encourages us to explore the far-reaching effects of music in our lives and to discover the added dimension it can bring to the world today. Locally the Warren Music Club, now in its 111th year, is affiliated with NFMC and will meet on Saturday in observance of National Music Week.

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra: Concert in New Castle

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Hoyt Center for the Arts present an evening celebrating The Art of Music, Wednesday May 20th 8:00 p.m., at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle. This program includes works by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and others; performed by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Fawzi Haimor [FOW-zee HAY-more]. New Castle Playhouse: "Damn Yankees" Musical Auditions

Stambaugh Chorus presents Haydn's "The Creation"

Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown is presenting the Stambaugh Chorus Spring Concert, featuring Joseph Haydn's oratorio, "The Creation", on Sunday, May 17th, at 5:00 PM. There will also be a choral medley from The Sound of Music in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the theatrical release, as well as three other opera choruses.
