Animal Charity Fur Ball

The second-annual Animal Charity Fur Ball takes place on Saturday, November 1, from 7 pm to 11 pm at the B&O Station in downtown Youngstown.  Ticket information is available at Animal Charity, at 4140 Market Street, in Boardman, or at acoofohio@gmail.com.  Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event.

 

1st Annual Half Way to St. Patrick's Day "Any" Stew Cook-off

 The Ancient Order of Hibernians and Trumbull Mobile Meals are sponsoring a Stew Cook Off competition on Saturday October 18, from 5:00 - 10:00 pm, at Blessed Sacrament Parish’s’ Reagan Hall, on Reeves Road, in Warren.  This family friendly event features food and refreshments, live music by the Lords of Leisure, an Irish Step Dancing demonstration and gift basket raffles.  More information available at  (330) 442-6261.

 

 

OCCHA’s 42nd Annual Gala

OCCHA’s 42nd Annual Gala is schedules for Friday, October 17, 5:30-11:00 pm, at the Georgetown Banquet Hall, on South Avenue, in Boardman.  OCCHA is a social service agency serving the Hispanic and multicultural community, celebrating 42 years of service with an adults only event at the Georgetown Banquet Center. YSU Hispanic Heritage Committee Hispanic Heritage Celebration

The YSU Hispanic Heritage Committee presents a Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Saturday, October 4, at noon in the Chestnut Room of the YSU Kilcawley Center.  This main event will feature music entertainment, dance performances, children’s activities, cultural displays, vendors, information tables and ethnic refreshments. The event is co-sponsored by the Youngstown State University Office Student Diversity Programs with support from campus and community organizations as well as local sponsors. Hispanic Heritage Month Opening Ceremony

This Opening Ceremony for Hispanic Heritage Month is on Thursday, September 18, at 12:15pm at the Mahoning County Courthouse.  The event will feature a flag ceremony representing 22 Hispanic countries as well as musical performances. The keynote speaker will be attorney Miriam Ocasio and YSU student Josiah Banks will serve as emcee. Healing Mother Earth 6th Annual Native American Powwow

The United Eastern Lenape Nation is proud to present the Healing Mother Earth 6th Annual Native American Powwow, September 5 - 7, at Fischer’s Pine Lake, 3796 Maple Road in Jefferson, OH. All drums and dancers are welcome to participate! There will be Native Vendors, Native American Storytelling, Flute & Auction; Evening Activities include Trade Blanket, Moonlight Dancing, and Drumming.

Salem Community Theatre (490 East State Street) presents The Producers, The Musical, by Mel Brooks, Thomas Meehan, Glen Kelly, and Doug Besterman, running weekends from Friday, August 1st through Sunday, August 10th. Evening performances begin at 8 P.M. and the Sunday matinees are at 2 P.M. [This show tells of a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant as they scheme to bilk their "little old lady" backers out of millions of dollars by creating a huge flop.
