YSU Women’s and Gender Studies Program is sponsoring Throwing Stones at the Glass Ceiling: An Evening with Jen Ralston. Ralston, who has worked on feature films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Primary Colors and television shows like The Wire, will speak at YSU’s McKay Auditorium in Beeghly Hall on March 19th, at 7:00 pm for a YSU Women’s History Month event. She will discuss the challenges she has faced with writing, directing, producing, and gaining recognition in the entertainment industry.
Leslie Brothers, Director of the McDonough Museum of Art, was the juror for TAG's photo2015 exhibit. She is hosting an open discussion on her process, on Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 pm, at the Trumbull Art Gallery, at 58 N Park Avenue in Warren, Ohio.
BUILDING ART 2015,the annual celebration ofthe creative artists and great works happening at the Morley Arts Building in Youngstown, is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th, at 7:00 pm. The Morley Arts Building, located at 218 West Boardman Street in Youngstown, is the home to Ballet Western Reserve, Ballet Western Reserve Center for Dance Education.

The Columbiana Board of Tourism is presenting the 3rd Annual Columbiana Wine Festival, on Saturday, June 27th, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Sunday, June 28th, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Photo2015, Trumbull Art Gallery's annual juried photography show, featuring fine photography from Mahoning Valley artists, opens February 28th and runs through Friday, April 10th. The juror for this exhibit is Leslie Brothers, Director of the McDonough Museum of Art. Open Tuesday - Saturday, from noon to 4 pm. Admission is free.
The Opening Reception for Photo2015, Trumbull Art Gallery's juried photography exhibit, will be held at Trumbull Art Gallery in Warren, on Saturday, February 28, at 7:00 PM. The reception allows viewing all of the entries and meeting the artists behind the exhibits.
The Butler Institute of American Art, Wick Avenue, Youngstown presents portraits of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by John Wilson, and works by Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence, and other African American artists--in celebration of Black History Month. As part of YSU's African American History Month program, The African Marketplace is bringing together various vendors of diverse African American cultural products, on Saturday, February 14, from noon - 2:00 - pm, in the Chestnut Room, in the Kilcawley Center on YSU's campus. Musical entertainment will be provided by the youth Harambee dancers and the Youth Choir of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Kelly Phelps, associate professor and chair of Art at Xavier University, and Kyle Phelps, an associate professor at University of Dayton, are presenting a joint lecture and discussion on their ceramic, sculpture, and media artwork on Wednesday, February 4, at 6:30 pm, at the McDonough Museum of Art in Youngstown. This is a free event.
The Africana Studies Program and the McDonough Museum of Art are presenting photographer Dawoud Bey as YSU's African American History Month Keynote Speaker. Bey's exhibit at the McDonough Picturing People features 50 images representing the evolution of Bey’s work over three decades.The lecture is on Thursday, February 12, at 5:30 pm in the McDonough Museum galleries in Youngstown.
