Rules Regarding All Prize Drawings
Current WYSU-FM hosts, staff and members of their immediate family are not eligible to win. (For the purposes of these contest rules, ‘immediate family’ shall include: Spouse, co-habitating significant other, parents and grandparents, children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, mother in law and father in law, brothers in law and sisters in law, daughters in law and sons in law. Adopted and step members shall also be included in immediate family).
Winners must be 18 years of age or older. Only one entry per person.
For each prize drawing, one name will be drawn from all eligible entries at the end of the prize period. You do not need to pledge in order to be included in any drawing, but your name, street address (no P.O. Box) and phone number are required.
The names of all prizewinners must be announced publicly by WYSU-FM. Hence, if a donor wishes to remain totally anonymous (even at the time winners are to be publicly announced), he or she will be excluded from all prize drawings.
The initial announcement of the name and city of residence of all prize winners will be made over the air, in a live broadcast by WYSU-FM, shortly after the drawings take place. Direct personal notification of all prize winners will occur by phone and/or US mail shortly after the end of the pledge drive (4:00 PM on Friday, April 11, 2014).
N.B. Prizes are not transferable. Prizes have no cash value. There is no substitute (cash value or otherwise) for any prize.
By entering into this drawing, participants agree to the Official Rules, and that WYSU-FM and related organizations, and their agents and employees will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from their use of the prize or their participation in the contest.
Participants also agree to grant WYSU-FM Radio the right to use their name, image, or other likeness without further compensation for advertising, fundraising or promotional purposes.
N.B. Taxes and other expenses associated with prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. WYSU strongly suggests that the winner contact a tax professional for information regarding potential tax consequences of winning the prize.
If the winner declines a prize at the time of personal notification, verbally or otherwise, the initial winner shall irrevocably relinquish his or her claim to the prize, and another name may, at the discretion of WYSU-FM, be drawn from the eligible entrants.
Rules Specific to the Grand Prize Drawing
One name will be drawn from the eligible entrants at the end of the drive on Friday, April 11, 2014. You do not need to pledge in order to be included in the drawing, but your name, street address and phone number are required.
N.B. Taxes and other expenses associated with the Grand Prize are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner. The Grand Prize winner must complete and return an IRS form W-9 (form available here: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf) to WYSU-FM in order to receive the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize winner will receive an IRS form 1099 for the value of the prize, to be issued for the tax year that the prize/trip is taken, from Youngstown State University. WYSU strongly suggests that the winner contact a tax professional for information regarding potential tax consequences of winning the prize.
If the winner is unable to collect the Grand Prize, or if WYSU-FM is unable to contact the winner by the end of business on May 11, 2014, or if the winner does not return the completed IRS form W-9 to WYSU-FM by the end of business on May 11, 2014, the un-awarded prize may, at the discretion of WYSU-FM, go to a backup winner randomly selected by WYSU-FM from all remaining eligible entrants.
The WYSU grand prize is defined and itemized by Go Ahead Tours for their 11-day Alaskan Glacier Cruise as described here: http://www.goaheadtours.com/agg/alaskan-glacier-cruise
The free components of the WYSU grand prize are confined to what is described therein. Items not explicitly mentioned in the Go Ahead tour description will be the responsibility of the travelers. Out-of-pocket expenses that the winner and guest might expect to assume may include (but are not limited to) some meals not covered in the basic tour plan; personal expenses; travel insurance; passport acquisition or renewal; and/or any optional trips or excursions offered as supplements to the basic itinerary. The available departure tour date for the Grand Prize will coincide with the WYSU station sponsored tour in 2015 on a date yet to be determined.
The winner and guest may be asked to each place a deposit to secure a place on the tour. This deposit, minus the cost of airport fees and taxes, will be refunded shortly before departure.
WYSU-FM and Youngstown State University assume no liability for the travelers, neither while on tour, nor in traveling to or from their destination.
The winner and guest must meet eligibility requirements of Go Ahead Tours and must agree to abide by the rules and regulations that govern all Go Ahead Tours participants as described in their travel terms and conditions. The winner and guest will allow their names, photos and/or written statements to be used in promotional material by Go Ahead Tours and WYSU-FM.
The Grand Prize shall include air departure from the Pittsburgh International Airport. Departure from another gateway can be arranged through Go Ahead Tours, but the prize winner will be responsible for any additional costs that may arise in departing from another airport.
The winner of the WYSU Grand Prize must choose and claim their prize by May 11, 2014. If the winner fails to claim the prize by May 11, 2014, an alternate winner may, at the discretion of WYSU-FM, be drawn from all remaining eligible entrants.
N.B. WYSU-FM will attempt to contact the Grand Prize winner by phone when the name is drawn, but in the event the winner cannot be reached directly, the name will be announced on the air prior to the winner’s notification.
