WYSU's local interview segment Doing Good is changing its time slot on 88.5 WYSU. Still airing on Tuesdays, the segment now airs at 5:45 and 7:45 am. Another change -- Gina's program has been expanded from 3 minutes to 5 minutes, so you'll be hearing more from her and her guests!
As for the reason for the time change, NPR recently revamped their program schedule, forcing some local changes on WYSU's end. The change affects the Morning Edition schedule including regional news headlines, the "Writer's Almanac, as well as "Doing Good."
"Doing Good" is produced weekly by WYSU staff and hosted by former television journalist Gina Marinelli. The segment has highlighted the good work, ideas and efforts by organizations and individuals in the Mahoning Valley Community since it began airing earlier this year. Marinelli, a former news anchor for WKBN and WYTV, is a familiar voice at WYSU 88.5 FM, having worked at the public radio station during her college years at Youngstown State University. She now works for Humility of Mary Foundation.
