Canton Symphony in Orbit in April with The Planets

Created by filmmaker Duncan Copp, The Planets - An HD Odyssey is a spectacular video presentation of Gustav Holst’s cosmic masterpiece, The Planets. The video depicts the latest images from modern space exploration, and on Saturday, April 26, The Planets will be projected in HD on a giant screen over the stage at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall. The effect is a stunning visual canvas to accompany the Canton Symphony Orchestra performance of the musical score, Gerhardt Zimmermann, conductor.
Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the space exploration exhibit in the Umstattd Hall lobby, presented by NASA and opening at 6:45 p.m. The Performance Prelude with Assistant Conductor Rachel L. Waddell begins at 7:00 p.m. The concert begins at 8:00 pm.
The exhibit and prelude are free to all concert ticket holders.
