Mahoning Valley Historical Society; Bites And Bits Of History Series; Quack Medicine And The Birth Of The FDA Lecture

As part of the Bites and Bits of History Series, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society presents Cassandra Nespor in a lecture entitled Quack Medicine and the Birth of the FDA on Thursday, May 15th at noon at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center (325 West Federal Street) in Downtown Youngstown. Guests are invited to bring their own lunch for events in this series. [Cassandra Nespor is the curator of Youngstown State University's Melnick Medical Museum, and she will discuss over-the-counter medicines and home medical devices from the 19th and 20th century, and how laws regarding these items changed and eventually led to the creation of the Food and Drug Administration.] More information about this event is available at (330) 743-2589.
